Emergency Department (ED)
The Emergency Department (E.D.) operates 24 hours a day (8:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m. the following day), every day of the week.
It is the first line of care for anyone arriving at the Hospital in need of immediate assistance. With speed, composure and clinical expertise, the ED team works every minute to safeguard patients’ health and lives.
The ED of our Hospital is called upon daily to manage urgent health incidents which, by nature, are unplanned and unpredictable. For this reason, it is equipped with the necessary infrastructure, appropriate medical equipment and the specialised personnel required to ensure the provision of immediate and high-quality emergency care in every case.

If you arrive by private vehicle while accompanying a patient, you may make a brief stop at the ED entrance, without obstructing ambulance access. A designated staff member will assist in transporting the patient inside the building.

Renovation and Upgrade of the Emergency Department
As part of the project “Renovation and Upgrade of the Emergency Department of the General Hospital of Eastern Achaia – Aigio Unit”, the ED will be relocated by the end of 2026 to the first building upon entering the hospital grounds (Building B), currently housing the Administrative Service.
The new ED will occupy an area of approximately 497 m2, following an extension of 27 m2. The current ED space will then be reassigned to accommodate the Administrative Service.
