Clinical Nutrition Department

The Clinical Nutrition Department of the General Hospital of Eastern Achaia (Aigio Unit) is a fundamental component of the overall provision of healthcare services, undertaking the specialised management of the dietary support of hospitalised patients. Through clinical assessment and interdisciplinary collaboration, it ensures the delivery of balanced and safe nutrition that supports recovery, improves quality of life, and helps prevent complications.

Additionally, a Nutrition Counseling Office operates within the framework of the Outpatient Clinics, from Monday to Thursday, offering evidence-based guidance aimed at promoting health and preventing chronic diseases through healthy dietary patterns. Finally, in the context of implementing public health education policies, the department carries out targeted educational interventions in schools, raising awareness among students on issues of healthy nutrition, thereby contributing to the establishment of healthy dietary habits from early childhood.
